Squads at ‘the Y’

Our squad programs are built around inspiring and empowering young people to continue to develop their skills, confidence and self-awareness in a positive, safe, support and fun environment.

1. Competitive Squads Program

Explore, discover and join the hugely rewarding community of competitive swimming at the Y.




2. Fitness Squads Program

Provides an opportunity for those children or teenagers leaving learn-to-swim programs who enjoy swimming and supports them in keeping fit through ongoing development of stroke technique to build their fitness levels.

3. Water Polo Swim Squads Program
WaterPolo TAS supports the Y Hobart in encouraging those children or teenagers interested or actively participating in water polo club programs and/or leaving learn-to-swim programs to build stamina and endurance in the areas of sprinting and leg work skills specific to the game of Water Polo.

4. Special Olympics Squads Program
The program provides an opportunity and platform to positively influence and support individuals with disabilities in their journey both in-and-out of the pool to succeed in the sport of swimming. Participants are encouraged to grow and develop their skills in a social environment that promotes connection and inclusion for all levels of achievement.

5. Adult Training and Performance Program (ATP)

Our Adult Training & Performance Program (ATP) has proven to be a great success and we are looking forward to continuing to grow and build this program.

The program provides the opportunity for adult athletes to plan, prepare and perform at their full potential in competitions by honing in on an athlete’s individual stroke technique and efficiency.

Training Sessions
Tuesdays and Thursdays: 6am to 7am

4-session pass:  $100 ($25 per session)
8-session pass:  $180 ($22.50 per session)
