By Brenna Reily – Children Service Coordinator at The Y Lycee Condorcet OSHC

Supplies:
•    yellow and orange cardboard, however paper works well too
•    circle punch (optional)
•    googly eyes
•    yellow feathers
•    glue
•    pencil
•    scissors

Directions:
1.    Start by tracing a large circle using household items like a mug or a cup. This will be the chick’s body.
2.    Trace another circle, a bit smaller for the chicks head.
3.    Cut the circles out using scissors
4.    Using the circle punch, cut two holes for your fingers at the base of the body. If you do not have this, draw two small circles. Cut these holes out using scissors (an adult may assist you)
5.    Using the orange cardboard or paper, draw a diamond shape. Cut it out using scissors.
6.    Fold the diamond shape in half and glue onto the face of the chick as a beak.
7.    Glue the smaller circle onto the bigger circle to make the chick head and body. Make sure to keep the finger holes at the bottom of the chick.
8.    Glue googly eyes onto your chick or use a marker to draw the eyes
9.    Finish your chick by gluing small yellow feathers onto the sides for chick wings. You might also like to glue a small amount at the back of the chick’s head too.
