Celebrating the important role of fathers.
The YMCA understands families come in all shapes and sizes. This is why we’ve developed programs and services to support and promote the important role that fathers and father figures play.
This is all part of our commitment to building happy and healthy communities.
Tasmanian YMCA Community Father of the Year Award
The Tasmanian YMCA Community Father of the Year award recognises dads and father figures who may think they’re ordinary, but are in fact extraordinary. The award is a chance for families to reflect on what was going on in their lives and what their dad or father figure means to them.
Every year young people are invited to nominate their father or father figure by writing or drawing about why they are so special to them. Ten finalist nominations will be selected throughout Tasmania, and from those finalists, a single winner will be selected and awarded the title of Tasmanian Community Father of the Year.
