Volunteer

Volunteering with the YMCA Hobart is an opportunity for personal and professional growth through assisting with the delivery of programs and services. By volunteering, you will also have the chance to develop your skills whilst making a valuable contribution to your community.

We are currently seeking volunteers for the following areas:

Fundraising
Work as part of a team to organise and execute fundraising initiatives for the YMCA of Hobart.
Reciprocal arrangement
As a benefit to those who assist on a regular weekly basis with volunteering, the YMCA will provide free access to Glenorchy facilities, including the use of the Y-Fitness centre.
Additional requirements
National Police Certificate *. Working with Children Check (volunteer)*.

Volunteers are to be non-judgmental, have empathy for all people in our community, and bring sense of enthusiasm and fun to their role.

Youth Support
Facilitate youth programs, actively plan and engage young people, provide friendship, guidance and supervision.
Reciprocal arrangement
As a benefit to those who assist on a regular weekly basis with volunteering, the YMCA will provide free access to Glenorchy facilities, including the use of the Y-Fitness centre.
Additional requirements
National Police Certificate *. Working with Children Check (volunteer)*.

Volunteers are to be non-judgmental, have empathy for young people who are experiencing a variety of troubles in their lives, and bring sense of enthusiasm and fun to their role.

Child Carers
The YMCA would like to provide opportunities for parents with small children in our community to use our gym facilities. This is often difficult, as some parents do not have an alternative carer available for and cannot afford traditional child care options. We would like to provide a regular service in the mornings and afternoons for parents to have their children minded on site in the Y-Kids Party and Play Centre.

As a benefit to those who assist on a regular weekly basis with volunteering, the YMCA will provide free access to Glenorchy facilities, including the use of the Y-Fitness centre.
